Starting this Thursday, the Winter Olympics will be going full swing in Sochi. The journalists and athletes are arrived and everything is set to be underway. You can be a part of the games too by following along at home or in the pub by playing Winter Olympics bingo.

All you need to do to get started is set up a few standard bingo cards of your own with things likely to happen during the games. Take for instance specific phrases used by commentators, common maneuvers in sports, or celebrity and alumni appearances, the game is yours to create. Or, if you aren’t feeling crafty enough to make cards of your own, you can download pre-made cards online. Play for prizes or just bragging rights, there are plenty of ways to have fun with Winter Olympics Bingo during the Games in Sochi.

This is the 22nd installment of the event and will feature many prominent winter sports, including slalom, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, luge, bobsledding and curling. This will be the first Olympics held in the Russian Federation since the dismantling of the USSR in 1991, with nearly 100 events in 15 disciplines taking place during the course of the Games from 7th to 23rd February 2014. As the most expensive Olympics in history, the Games have an estimated budget of US$51 billion.
