Castleford Tigers vs. Huddersfield Giants

The Castleford Tigers and Huddersfield Giants will play each other in round 20 of the Super League on Friday, 11^th July.

The Giants won their last game against the Tigers in May 2014 by 29 – 28. They also won last season’s games, but by far more comfortable margins, 48 – 32 and 40 – 24. The Tigers last beat the Giants in July 2012 when they won by 52 – 6.

The top of the league table is extremely close and the Castleford Tigers are currently fourth and tied on 26 points with both the Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves. Furthermore, there are only two points between them and the top spot. Every game is now essential for the Tigers as a number of teams are battling for the top spot and a loss could be devastating.

The Huddersfield Giants are not far behind; they are in sixth place with 24 points. They have a comfortable 5 point lead over the Catalan Dragons in seventh. However, a win would keep them in reaching distance of a top place finish which they are surely hoping to pull off.

The Castleford Tigers won their last two games beating the Widnes Vikings 40 – 20 and the Salford Red Devils 14 – 10. In June they lost two games in arrow, 38 – 16 to St Helens and 46 – 6 to the Wigan Warriors. However, at the beginning of the month they beat the Hull Kingston Rovers by 54 – 12.

The Huddersfield Giants lost their last game to the Salford Red Devils 36 – 10. However, they had an excellent streak in June winning all three of their games, 26 – 22 against the Hull Kingston Rovers, 38 – 22 against the London Broncos and 24 – 22 against the Leeds Rhinos.
