Leeds Rhinos vs. Castleford Tigers

The Leeds Rhinos will be taking on the Castleford Tigers in round 21 of the Super League on Thursday, 17th July.

The Rhinos have won their last three encounters with the Tigers, most recently in May 2014 when they won 22 – 14. The last time the Tigers won a game against the Rhinos was 14 – 12 in February 2013.

The Rhinos are currently second in the league with 29 points having won 14 games, drawn 1 and lost 5. They are just one point behind St Helens at the top of the league, but also just one point ahead of the Castleford Tigers.

The Tigers are third in the league with 28 points having won 14 games and lost 6. As a result this match will be a battle for second place in the league with whoever loses guaranteed to drop at least one place. Both teams also have the chance to move to the top of the league depending on the result of St Helens’ next game.

The Rhinos won their last game 30 – 6 against the Hull Kingston Rovers but lost 16 – 14 the week before against the Wakefield Wildcats. The team won its two last games in June, 32 -31 against the Catalan Dragons and 38 – 28 against the Widnes Vikings.

The Tigers are currently on a three game winning streak having beaten the Huddersfield Giants 44 – 30, the Widnes Vikings 40 – 20 and the Salford Red Devils 14 – 10. Before this winning streak the team lost two games in a row, 38 – 16 to St Helens and 46 – 6 to the Wigan Warriors.
