St Helens vs. Bradford Bulls

St Helens will host the Bradford Bulls for round 20 of the Super League on Friday, 11^th July.

St Helens have won their last two games against the Bradford Bulls, 30 – 18 in June 2013 and 36 – 10 in February 2013. The Bulls won 12 – 8 in March 2012 and the teams drew 14 – 14 in June 2011. This is their first meeting this year.

St Helens is having an excellent season. They are currently at the top of the league with 28 points having won 14 games and lost 5. A win would consolidate this position but a loss could see them slip a place or two as they only have a 1 point lead over the Leeds Rhinos and a 2 point lead over the Wigan Warriors.

Things are not going as well for the Bradford Bulls; they are thirteenth in the league with just 2 points having won 4 games and lost 15. They are 11 points behind the Salford Red Devils and need to begin to close this gap. Furthermore, they are only 2 points ahead of the London Broncos and could find themselves at the bottom of the league.

St Helens lost their last game 40 – 10 to the Hull Kingston Rovers but before that beat the Wigan Warriors 16 – 12 and the Castleford Tigers 38 – 16. At the beginning of June the team were destroyed by the Catalan Dragons 42 – 0.

Last week the Bradford Bulls lost 32 – 30 to the Catalan Dragons and in June suffered three straight defeats, 50 – 24 to the Warrington Wolves, 44 – 18 to the Hull Kingston Rovers and 46 – 18 to the Salford Red Devils. They last won at the beginning of June when they beat the Wakefield Wildcats 20 – 12.
