2013 was a big year for online gambling. Many newly regulated markets opened up and analysts predict a fruitful year in 2014.

Most projections involved the US online gambling industry. With regulation beginning to loosen up and new markets opening in several states, the US is ripe for growth in what is one of the most lucrative industries in the world. Most recently New Jersey opened its doors to online gambling alongside Nevada and Delaware. Many predict this will create a domino effect, leading other states to follow suit.

While it may take time for states to warm up to online gambling, many have their attention focused toward Pennsylvania, Colorado, Illinois and California.
Asian gambling markets had a record year in revenue and the outlook for 2014 is looking up as advancement in tablet and mobile gaming pushes forward.

Mobile is turning into big business for online casinos, poker rooms, bingo halls, and sportbooks. Operators are getting very savvy in how to reach a wider audience and generating more interest in their products. With more and more users logging on with tablets and smartphones every day, this is one area operators can’t afford to overlook.

Consultants from Juniper Research have predicted that by 2018 more than 100 million users will take part in mobile gambling activities on a regular basis. As devices improve reliability, speed, and accessibility to what users are looking for, we can expect to see marked increases across the board for online gambling markets.
