The winner of the Cordova Ante Up Poker Tour event in Cordova, California has been crowned. Chris Agustin beat out 136 other tournament entrants for the top spot and over $3,200 in cash. Not only that, but the card shark also netted himself a few other goodies, including a $1,650 seat to the Ante Up World Championship Main Event, happening 9th August at Thunder Valley Casino Resort, and a custom-made Ante Up Poker Tour champion’s jacket. Agustin will also appear on the cover of Ante Up magazine following his championship title.

Chris began playing poker more seriously after leaving a demanding corporate job in Orange County, California that had him working 13-hours a day. For a man with a new baby on the way, a first place poker title is a great sign of things to come.

The event was a $220 buy-in tournament that was so successful an additional flight was opened for players looking to buy-in to the medium-stakes action.

Agustin was followed closely by John Easton, a Cordova casino dealer, who finished in second with a prize of $3,033. Prizes totaled $26,800 in all, which was divvied up among the final 12 players.

The next Ante Up event will be held in Petaluma, California at the 101 Casino, just north of San Francisco, from 7th – 13th April. Buy-in amounts and a detailed schedule for the event will be released shortly.
