This Thursday, 16th July, England and Australia will play the second test of this year’s Ashes at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
The first test was played over the weekend and much to everyone’s surprise England stormed to victory. In the first innings England managed 430/10 and Australia scored 308/10. The second innings saw England knock up another 289/10 while Australia managed just 242/10. As a result England won the test by 169 runs. The result was a particular surprise as England lost the last series 5 – 0.
However, possibly due to a thirst for revenge, Australia is favourite at Winner Sports to win the second test with odds of 11/8. England is not far behind with odds of 13/8 while a draw has been set at 5/2.
Despite Australia being favourite to win the upcoming test, it is a best of five series and there are odds of 1/1 on England winning the series while the odds of Australia winning are 13/8. However, in the Series Correct Score market the shortest odds are 4/1 on a 2 – 2 draw followed by 6/1 on England winning 3 – 1.
