Super Bowl XLVIII: Seahawks and Broncos Set To Play Tonight In New Jersey

📅02 February 2014, 18:11

Fans are ready to watch the biggest football event of the year from homes and sports bars all over the globe.

After winning their respective conference finals, the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos are set to take the field February 2nd at 6:30pm EST in New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium to compete in the 48th NFL Super Bowl. The event can be watched on US networks or NFL.com with an NFL game pass account.

Predictions have been lauded from book makers, die-hards, and fantasy footballers alike, but plenty of factors can weigh in and affect the outcome of the game. Namely, Inclement weather. The Northeast United States’ winter months are at times brutal. Being the first Super Bowl to be played outdoors in a cold weather environment and the first on artificial turf since Super Bowl X, climate conditions could play a huge factor in how the game proceeds into the evening. While currently the forecast will hover around freezing temperatures, neither rain nor snow are expected for tonight’s event.

Denver is currently ranked as the NFL’s top offensive team and Seattle the top defensive team, which will no doubt make for a good give and take between the end zones. Not only that, but before their departure from the AFC West in 2001, Seattle and Denver in fact league rivals. Just a little fun fact for you football fiends to throw out at your local Super Bowl shindig.

Bookies are predicting a close game with Denver favored to win over Seattle in what has been dubbed by social media and news outlets as the Weed Bowl, thanks to both Colorado’s and Washington’s passing of legislation last year legalizing the recreational use of marijuana.
