Arsenal has managed to work their way into the FA Cup Semi-Finals following a victory against Everton at Emirates stadium.

In a game that was 1-1 at the half, few would believe the game was as close as the final score, 4-1 for Arsenal, would suggest. Mesut Ozil gave Arsenal early breathing room with a 1-0 lead from the 7 minute mark, while Romelu Lukaku would follow up shortly with a goal scored from deep inside the box.

Equal handed exchanges made a game of tug of war until Everton conceded a penalty to Mikel Arteta that, after a second attempt, would find its way to the back of the net.

Late sub Olivier Giroud would find the back of the net twice more within the final 10 minutes of the match.

The win for Arsenal comes as a ray of hope to end their dry spell of tournament titles. Their last win was the FA Cup in 2005 and the club has been looking feverishly towards this year’s title.

The two teams shared possession half and half almost down to the percent, while Arsenal fired volley after volley toward the Everton goal with 9 of 17 shots on target. Everton would find only 3 on frame of their 11 attempts.

Arsenal dominated the approach from the goal line with 13 corners to Everton’s 2. Everton did however lead in fouls, with 15 to Arsenals 9. Three Yellow cards were handed down, to Arsenal’s Flamini (20) and Sanogo (22) as well as Everton’s McCarthy (16).
