An early lead put Liverpool in a favourable position from as soon as the second minute thanks to an own goal courtesy of Younes Kaboul. Glen Johnson found himself surprisingly free following an easy overlap. Firing a low cross through the six, Kaboul heeled the ball in for what would be the beginning of an abysmal game for Tottenham.

The Spurs second hit came following another mishap from Kaboul and Michael Dawson. Whether a miscommunication or simply a result of having heads in the clouds, a simple pass snuck by the two. Luis Suarez found the route to pick up possession behind the line and snuck one passed Hugo Lloris for point two.

The Spurs backfield wasn’t completely abysmal though. Pushing further into the match, Lloris managed some rather choice saves from the likes of Suarez. Some fumbling on the part of Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson saved Tottenham from further embarrassment, though the play was well stitched thanks to Sturridge and Sterling.

A low strike off the foot of Philippe Coutinho found the far corner of the goal and upped the score to three for Liverpool.

Jordan Henderson managed to put in an effort from a free kick and find a fourth point for Liverpool before the match’s end.

Liverpool’s 4-0 win over Tottenham has pushed the team into the top position of Premier League standings.
