This Sunday Chelsea will travel to Old Trafford and take on Manchester United in their ninth match of the Premier League season.

The teams have played five times since October 2013. Chelsea has won three of the games and the other two have ended in draws. Most recently Chelsea beat Manchester United 3 – 1 in January 2014.

As a result it is hardly surprising that Chelsea is 29/20 favourite to win while the odds on Manchester United winning are 19/10. A draw has been set at 12/5.

Chelsea is top of the league with 22 points having won 7 games and drawn 1; they have a 5 point lead over Manchester City. Manchester United is sixth in the league with 12 points having won 3 games, drawn 3 and lost 2.

Most recently Manchester United drew 2 – 2 with West Brom, before that they beat Everton 2 – 1. Chelsea destroyed Maribor 6 – 0 in the Champions League this week and last week beat Crystal Palace 2 – 1 in the Premier League.

Manchester United is without Wayne Rooney due to a suspension and Jesse Lingard, Antonio Valencia, Jonny Evans and Patrick McNair due to injuries.

Chelsea is missing Cesar Azpilicueta due to a suspension and Diego Costa due to an injury.
