With just a few weeks until the World Cup fans across the world are busy picking their favourites and making predictions. While everyone focuses on the top seeds there are a few teams taking part that, while they may not have the best chances of winning, could cause some serious upsets.

For instance, Belgium could easily run into Germany or Portugal in the Round of 16 and despite common belief they could beat either side. Portugal has extremely strong wings, but a poor midfield. Germany on the other hand has some series injury problems with defensive midfielders.

Belgium has a strong central axis and the midfield trio or Axel Witsel, Marouane Fellaini and Steven Defour is very physical. With Germany and Portugal’s respective weaknesses, Belgium could score a surprise victory against either team.

Another team to watch is Chile. Brazil is a strong favourite to win the tournament, but Chile might have something to say about that (assuming they can get past Holland).

Chile will emerge from the group stage with very little pressure upon them to perform and the team play exactly the kind of disciplined football that could cause Brazil problems. The team has a number of star players, but also works extremely well as a whole. Beating the host nation would be a massive triumph for Chile and it is definitely something they are capable of.
