The annual championship draws big sponsorships, this year’s sponsor being the Royal Bank of Scotland, and lots of attention from rugby fans across the globe. This will be the 120th installment of the competition and media from several countries will highlight the event with live broadcast coverage.
In the UK all matches will be broadcast on the BBC while S4C will cover exclusively Wales matches. In Ireland the RTE network will broadcast all matches as well as French network France Télévisions and Italian DMAX in their respective countries.
Paul O’Connell, Tom Wood, Mike Phillips, Stuart Hogg, Wesley Fofana are just a few of the major players to keep an eye on during this year’s competition. While Wales may be favoured by some to take the event, only time will tell if that prediction is sound.
