The Six Nations rugby tournament features six competing teams from the British Isles and European Union. One of the largest competitions in the sport of rugby, being crowned champions is one of the most coveted honors. England will have a hard time keeping up the competition following one of its star players taking a leave of absence after suffering a neck injury.

Dan Cole, England’s tight-head prop has suffered a trapped nerve resulting from a bulging disc in his neck and will be sidelined for some doctor recommended rest. England’s prospects for taking the title are now severely diminished as up-and-coming players, Bath’s David Wilson and Sale’s Henry Thomas, will be forced to take up the challenge and fill Cole’s shoes.

Cole’s injury became apparent during a workout session last week in St. George’s Park. The 26 year old quickly alerted the team medics regarding neck pains. Medical staff are now working diligently to put together a regimen that will have Cole recovered in the best shape possible. Cole is expected to miss the remainder of the championship.

England will be preparing double hard for this weekend’s match against Ireland when the two face this Saturday 22nd February at 16:00 in Twickenham Stadium.
